This is something that has troubled me even when Trump did it. We have a legislative process for passing laws approving treaties and bypassing that process to satisfy the whim of the moment has become distressingly common. But as easy as it is to enact an executive order its to also a simple matter in most cases for your successor to undo them. The legislative process is a slow, lumbering and supposedly deliberative process. It was designed that way purposely to prevent sudden and ill advised reversals in policies that often result from hasty decisions.
