I felt like I was listening to that old Beatles song, “All we are saying is give peace a chance.” A sentiment no one could argue with but in the end totally meaningless because it offered no path to achieving this nirvana. It’s safe to make statements that appeal to human decency but not take a stand to actually promote that vaunted ideal. That’s what Biden’s inaugural address accomplished yesterday. We must unify, respect one another, be tolerant, be willing to hear another’s point of view. But there was nothing in hat speech calling on the self appointed arbiters of truth in the MSM and big tech to put any of this high sounding rhetoric into practice. Or for that matter, the Senate. On this day two of the new Administration the headlines to not seem to encourage any of the kumbaya nonsense being spewed to an empty field yesterday. I am not at this point encouraged that any of those lofty sounding ideals were anything but words uttered for effect with no relation to action.
