Let’s take a look at what the new administration has accomplished so far this week. Right after taking the oath of office the new President gave what might have been a rather stirring speech if he was ever able to get his tongue out of hi cheek. He gave this rousing call to unity and civility, knowing all along that many of his day one executive orders would do more to alienate those who did not vote for him than all the Trump rallies combined. We will dissect those in a separate post but right now let’s just put it down as an inauspicious start to a dismal start to this Presidency.
The first press briefing was so fawning that that when I first saw it I thought for sure it was a satire from the Babylon Bee. It really was sad to watch as members of the White House press corps ask about things like the color scheme on Air Force One. If I didn’t know any better I would think they asked Alexa, “What’s the stupidest, most inane and meaningless questions we can ask a Press Secretary.”
One of those aforementioned executive orders concerned wearing face coverings while on Federal Property. Then he goes to to teh Lincoln Memorial, which last I checked was Federal property and gave a speech while violating his own executive order and not wearing a mask. “Rules are for the and not for me.” This is the MO for so many in the ruling elite from both parties but people are really getting tired of it.
One person asked Biden one question and Crazy Uncle Joe bit his head off with his trademark “Cmon Man!” as if this answered and rendered moot any and all questions to him that have not been vetted by his handlers. The question for most of us is when is he going to give a real press conference?
In short, I am not impressed. Not that I expected I would be . It’s going to be a long four years.
