The systematic, unbridled attack on the Constitution has become so blatant that it should frighten even liberals. If you are going to “pack” the Supreme Court in order to forward a political agenda you might just as well dispense with the Judiciary branch in it’s entirety as it will cease to have any semblance of a branch of Government that is independent and co-equal as the founders intended. It will set the stage for the totalitarian rule which is the true aim of progressives.
Several House Democrats are set to unveil legislation Thursday to expand the number of justices on the Supreme Court. Supporters of the proposal plan to hold a news conference on the steps of the Supreme Court building. They include U.S. Sen. Ed Markey of Massachusetts and U.S. Reps. Jerry Nadler and Mondaire Jones, both of New York, and Hank Johnson of Georgia. Given Democrats’ control of the White House and Senate, the legislation could allow the party to supersede the court’s current conservative majority by “packing” the Court with liberal justices.
