HYPOCRITE: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Pays Former Blackwater Contractor for Private Security Detail – Big League Politics

Defund the police, kill jobs, keep silent while children are being slaughtered in the street, but hey-AOC is safe and secure in the knowledge that the stupidest voters this side of California will keep her employed.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is paying thousands for private security detail as she pushes to defund the police, including a payout of over $4,000 to a former Blackwater contractor. According to her Federal Election Commission (FEC) records, Ocasio-Cortez paid Tullis Worldwide Protection at least $4,636 for “security services.” That security organization was founded by Devin Tullis, a former Blackwater employee who also provides services to foreign clients like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. “We’re not hiring social workers,” Tullis said of his operation. Blackwater was involved in military contracting in Iraq and has been accused of engaging in heavy-handed tactics in the region.  “Out of one corner of her mouth she is attacking the police and out of the other she is hiring cops who have gone private to protect her. So AOC, which is it?” long-time Democratic operative Jon Reinish said to the New York Post. Ocasio-Cortez has publicly opposed the war on Iraq and called for defunding law enforcement, but she embraces the individuals she claims to oppose in campaign speeches when it helps her own aims. She has spent over $34,000 on private security in total throughout 2021.
