This is the Democrats version of transparency. The same version we can expect from the White House for the next four years.
California ignores public records request, keeps coronavirus data hidden
I have many Catholic friends-including some in the clergy-who routinely vote for Democrats despite the candidates’ and the party platform’s horrifical policies in direct, continuous, and unrepentant opposition to Catholic teaching. Blind party loyalty can force you into not only compromising your core beliefs but endangering your immortal soul. The only way evil can thrive is if good men do nothing. There seems to be a lot of that going on now.
José Horacio Gomez, the president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, issued a strong denunciation of President Joe Biden’s stance on abortion, marriage, and gender. Gomez, the archbishop of Los Angeles, offered prayers for the new president and his family on Inauguration Day. “I am praying that God grant him wisdom and courage to lead this great nation and that God help him to meet the tests of these times, to heal the wounds caused by this pandemic, to ease our intense political and cultural divisions, and to bring people together with renewed dedication to America’s founding purposes, to be one nation under God committed to liberty and equality for all,” Gomez said in a statement.Head of US Conference of Catholic Bishops warns Biden’s agenda would ‘advance moral evils and threaten human life’ – TheBlaze
It is somewhat fitting that the modern day Neville Chamberlain would not want to have to work under the watchful gaze of Churchill. I would be a constant reminder of just what a weak and sniveling individual Biden is. But there is something ironic in his choice of Cesar Chavez since he spent his first day throwing thousands of working men and women out of work by executive order with all the compassion and consideration of a hedge fund manager.
During Biden’s first day serving as President, he replaced the bust, which was originally a gift to the White House in 2001 from then-Prime Minister Tony Blair, with a bust of labor activist Cesar Chavez.Biden Removes Churchill Bust From Oval Office – The National Pulse
Larry King had a style of interviewing that you just don’t see anymore. The star of any of his shows was the person being interviewed, not the host. Today, and this is true of the right and the left, the sole purpose of inviting someone you disagree with for an interview is so they can be ambushed.
This type of interaction has carried over into debating. Look at the Presidential debates. Look at shows like The View. These are not debates or discussions but rather verbal brawls with the intellectual heft of professional wrestling. But I guess that’s what sells these days and that, more than anything, is a sad commentary on our culture.
Larry King will be missed. I already miss his style of journalism.
Let’s take a look at what the new administration has accomplished so far this week. Right after taking the oath of office the new President gave what might have been a rather stirring speech if he was ever able to get his tongue out of hi cheek. He gave this rousing call to unity and civility, knowing all along that many of his day one executive orders would do more to alienate those who did not vote for him than all the Trump rallies combined. We will dissect those in a separate post but right now let’s just put it down as an inauspicious start to a dismal start to this Presidency.
The first press briefing was so fawning that that when I first saw it I thought for sure it was a satire from the Babylon Bee. It really was sad to watch as members of the White House press corps ask about things like the color scheme on Air Force One. If I didn’t know any better I would think they asked Alexa, “What’s the stupidest, most inane and meaningless questions we can ask a Press Secretary.”
One of those aforementioned executive orders concerned wearing face coverings while on Federal Property. Then he goes to to teh Lincoln Memorial, which last I checked was Federal property and gave a speech while violating his own executive order and not wearing a mask. “Rules are for the and not for me.” This is the MO for so many in the ruling elite from both parties but people are really getting tired of it.
One person asked Biden one question and Crazy Uncle Joe bit his head off with his trademark “Cmon Man!” as if this answered and rendered moot any and all questions to him that have not been vetted by his handlers. The question for most of us is when is he going to give a real press conference?
In short, I am not impressed. Not that I expected I would be . It’s going to be a long four years.
Gee Can you imagine the military presence if Biden wasn’t the most popular President in history.
A few thousand National Guard troops could end up staying in the nation’s capital until mid-March, a U.S. defense official confirms to Fox News.
The National Guard is in the process of meeting with various federal agencies to “determine their requirements” for troops to stay beyond January, the official said. Planning is underway, but no final decisions have been made, the official added.National Guard mulls keeping a few thousand troops in D.C. until March | Fox News

Transportation Secretary nominee Pete Buttigieg suggested raising the federal gas tax in order to fund infrastructure initiatives during his confirmation hearing Thursday before the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee.
Republican Florida Sen. Rick Scott asked the former South Bend mayor if he would favor a federal gas tax increase to pay for the Highway Trust Fund. The fund is mostly financed by revenue from federal gas taxes but has become less financially solvent in recent years, according to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center.Pete Buttigieg Floats Raising Federal Gas Tax: ‘All Options Need To Be On The Table’ | The Daily Caller

In the weeks following the Capitol riot, Twitter has become possibly the most hated name on the internet – and the most acclaimed. Depending on whom you ask, the microblogging platform acted heroically or tyrannically in cutting Donald Trump’s character limit to zero. But recent activity shows that the social media heavyweight is far from finished. Despite suffering a drop in financial markets, Twitter apparently intends to continue the purge. Big box media outlets are still lauding the company’s decision to ban Trump, and it’s perhaps no wonder: Software service Zignal Labs claimed that misinformation on election fraud dropped by 73% in the week after multiple social media outlets disconnected him. Having already suspended Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) for 12 hours, it seems for disputing the election results, and suspending more than 70,000 accounts “sharing QAnon content,” where is Twitter likely to go next?

Great. Take away Mexico’s incentive to protect their southern border. This will be a boon to coyotes who prey on migrants, and human traffickers who victimize women and children.
The Biden administration has discontinued a Trump policy that forced migrants who sought asylum at U.S. border crossings to remain in Mexico for months until their day in court.
Starting Thursday, asylum-seekers arriving anywhere along the 2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico border will not be turned around, the government announced, as was policy under the Department of Homeland Security’s Migrant Protection Protocols program, better known as “remain in Mexico.”
The program was implemented in January 2019, and since then, 67,000 people have been enrolled. Migrants who presented themselves to federal law enforcement officers at border crossings and who were arrested for sneaking over the border are both returned to Mexico if they seek asylum during the process.
The program was rolled out as a growing number of migrant families were arriving at the southern border and attempts to “meter” how many people could apply for asylum at ports of entry per day and illegal crossings were dramatically rising. Amid the surge of people, the government was unable to hear and decide claims in the 20-day limit that it is allowed to detain families in immigration custody, forcing them to release people into the United States.Biden ends Trump ‘remain in Mexico’ asylum policy
