Brooklyn field hospital never saw a coronavirus patient

The COVID-19 crisis is a real crisis. Drastic measures were needed to ensure that we did not have mortality like that suffered in Belgium, Great Britain, and Italy. But the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights have been on pause long enough. We have suspended due process, the legislative process, and common sense while granting fascist state like powers to governors and mayors. We have witnessed a classic exhibition of the old bromide, “Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.”

Mario Cuomo, Bill de Blasio, Gavin Newsom, et al.; have had a taste of something they have long craved: total control over the lives of ordinary citizens, crushing private enterprise, and making everyone dependent of government largess. It has been a Progressive (fascist) wet dream, so it should come as no surprise that they have been loathed to give it up and return control to the people, where it belongs.

A roughly $21 million Brooklyn field hospital authorized by the de Blasio administration at the height of the coronavirus pandemic opened and closed without ever seeing one patient, according to city officials. The Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook was one of several sites across the five boroughs converted into a medical facility as a way to relieve the city’s overburdened hospital system as the COVID-19 crisis mounted. Mayor Bill de Blasio announced plans on Mar. 31 — a day after the USNS Comfort hospital ship arrived in New York Harbor to aid in the coronavirus fight — for the $20.8 million Red Hook field hospital with an estimated capacity for 750 beds. The field hospital was built by Texas-based construction company SLSCO. “They are going to set it up rapidly and we’re then going to go to the next site, the next site, the next site to meet our goal,” de Blasio told reporters of the site during that press conference in which the mayor also outlined the details to turn Queens’ Billie Jean King National Tennis Center into a 350-bed temporary hospital.

Sen. Mike Lee: Congress Must Reform FISA Court Now | Newsmax.com

The FISA court needs to be either reformed and made accountable or it should be disbanded. It’s very existence is at best Constitutionally questionable. But nothing is likely to happen in this Congressional session as spying on American citizens who oppose them is how some of these career politicians maintain their grip on power.

Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, says it is time to make certain the FBI can’t ever spy on a presidential campaign again. Lee made his comments in a column posted Tuesday on the Fox News website. “The FBI improperly spied on the Trump campaign in 2016,” he wrote. “We must ensure the bureau can’t do it in 2020 or ever again. Because if the FBI can unfairly target a presidential campaign, imagine what it can do to regular Americans. “Here’s how we know what happened. In December, Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz released a 478-page report detailing over a dozen ‘serious performance failures’ in the FBI’s use of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to intercept the communications of President Trump’s campaign supporters. Horowitz identified ‘at least 17 significant errors or omissions’ in the applications to spy on Trump campaign official Carter Page.”
