Biden has been nothing but divisive in his reaction to this crises. that is the exact opposite of how a leader behaves. Further proof of his utter incompetence.
The leftist national media incessantly reports that the spread of the coronavirus is, well, President Trump’s fault. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, always good for the most incendiary and least helpful comments in any difficult situation, said on Sunday, “[T]he president — his denial at the beginning was deadly.”
Then in Joe Biden’s latest effort to be relevant, his campaign has released an ad attacking President Trump for not being sufficiently responsive to the threats of the coronavirus from the “beginning.”
Here is a key fact: In the beginning, China lied. People died. Although the first case of the coronavirus was reported in Wuhan, China in early December 2019, the Chinese authorities continued through January 2020 to downplay the potential for the disease to spread.
The World Health Organization (WHO) reinforced China’s falsehoods, saying on Jan. 14 that “Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) identified in Wuhan, China.” This was five to six weeks after the opposite was confirmed to be the case in Wuhan.
Is it over? Is Joe the one? Is Bernie out of it? There is no question that the rank and file Democrats resoundingly rejected Socialism and the Bernie Bros in yesterday’s primaries. But was it because they see Joe as the leader of the Party who is going to lead the Democrats to victory in November? Or is it a combination of disenchantment with the socialist agenda and the very youthful base of Sanders’ support being too lazy to get out of the house and vote? We can debate this, but it is a matter of opinion, one that will ultimately be resolved in November.
History didn’t repeat itself in Michigan for Bernie Sanders. And because of that, the populist U.S. senator from Vermont had an extremely disappointing evening on “Super Tuesday II” — and now faces daunting delegate math that leaves him slipping swiftly out of reach of the Democratic presidential nomination. Just four years ago, it was in Michigan where Sanders pulled off a historic upset over eventual nominee Hillary Clinton. At the time, the victory kept his White House bid alive. Fast forward four years later and Sanders – down in the public opinion polls by double digits once again in the Great Lake State – was convincingly defeated by former Vice President Joe Biden. Four years ago Sanders nearly topped Clinton in Missouri. This time around he lost the state by a nearly 2-to-1 margin to Biden. And the former vice president trounced Sanders in Mississippi and won in Idaho as well. Sanders – who won a landslide victory in the 2016 Washington state caucuses – was neck and neck with Biden in the state’s 2020 primary with just over two-thirds of the vote counted. Biden initially had the slight edge in Idaho – with more than three-quarters of the vote counted — and was eventually declared the winner. Sanders was up in North Dakota’s caucuses, where only 14 delegates were up for grabs. Undisputed front-runner Biden’s blockbuster performance boosted his lead in the all-important race for presidential convention delegates and further cemented his status as the undisputed front-runner for the Democratic nomination. And Biden’s strong performance presented Sanders with a difficult choice to make on whether to continue his White House bid. In a remarkable and uncharacteristic move, Sanders opted not to deliver a primary night address, passing on the opportunity to speak to a national audience.
Enough, already Mitt. If you want to become Democrat, then become a Democrat. You know full well this investigation is warranted. But your hatred of President Trump has clouded your thinking to the point where you are blinded to what’s in the best interests of the country.
Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, who faced the scorn of President Trump and fellow Republicans over his vote last month to convict at the Senate impeachment trial, questioned the motivation behind a Republican effort to issue a subpoena related to Hunter Biden and his dealing with Ukraine.
“I would prefer that investigations are done by an independent, non-political body,” Romney told the Washington Post. “There’s no question the appearance is not good.”
TRUMP SUGGESTS JOE BIDEN IS NOT COMPETENT
Republicans are gearing up for a vote next week in the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee that would approve a subpoena aimed at gathering information related to a former Ukrainian diplomat with ties to the consulting firm Blue Star Strategies, Reuters reported. The allegation is that the company used Hunter Biden for access to the State Department. His father was vice president at the time.
The Bidens have denied any wrongdoing.
Romney’s vote is pivotal. Republicans maintain an 8-to-6 majority in the committee, and if Romney sides with Democrats the result would be a 7-7 tie.
“There’s no question but that the appearance of looking into Burisma and Hunter Biden appears political. And I think people are tired of these kinds of political investigations,” Romney said.
The committee has been pursuing its investigation into the Bidens since at least November. The vote is expected next Wednesday.
“Joe Biden has never adequately answered these questions,” Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., told “The Story with Martha McCallum” this week.
“I’ve said repeatedly, if there’s wrongdoing the American people need to understand that. If there is no wrongdoing, or if it’s not significant, the American people need to understand that,” the chairman of the committee said.
Joe Biden is crashing. Bernie and Lizzie are unelectable. So who is there? No one else seems to be getting any traction, although there are still some clinging to the hope that they will catch fire somehow and win the hearts of the Democratic electorate. Super Tuesday is usually the day when a clear frontrunner starts to distance himself or herself from the pack. This year it will be more about IF there will be a clear frontrunner coming out of the current field.
The more the impeachment circus drags on, the more negative information has been coming out about Joe Biden and all the shady dealings he had concerning his family and the millions of dollars they have amassed during all these years of Joe’s public service. So much so that even the MSM has been forced to at least report on the allegations. If the DNC Politburo decides that they can no longer put their anointed candidate on the ballot, they may permit the networks to do their jobs.
If Biden falls, who is left? Bernie Sanders scares the Party Establishment so much they are already planting stories about how crazy this guy is. They even trotted out their heroin, Hillary Clinton, to take a pot shot at him and slink back into the woods. Their fear of Bernie is so intense that they have been trying desperately to divert any serious investigation into the Bidens when in saner times a candidate s damaged as Biden would have been quietly convinced to recuse himself under whatever pretense he chose.
The elephant in the room right now is Michael Bloomberg. His primary qualification is money. Not money he was able to raise from people who support him, but his own. He is little more than a monkey wrench in the Primary process right now because while he may see himself in as some leftist Donald Trump candidate, he does not have anywhere near the populist support has. His modest rise in the polls has little to do with anything he is bringing to the table but more to do with his uncontested ads running in states where the other candidates have not yet started campaigning in earnest.
All this could lead to what many Democrats fear most-a a brokered Convention. This summer’s gathering in Milwaulkee could be fun for those of us looking in. Stay tuned.
Watching Democratic lawmakers walking over to the Senate to deliver the articles of impeachment formally, I couldn’t help but be reminded of days gone by when Ringling Brothers would come to town. There would be news coverage of the animals filing into the Lincoln Tunnel on the way to Madison Square Garden for a spectacular exhibition. The difference between this caravan and the legislators processing through the Capitol Rotunda is that the former was supposed to culminate in a circus. At the same time, the latter evolved into one due to Democratic partisan bumbling and incompetence. Or perhaps that is what we are supposed to think.
Nancy Pelosi looks like a fool right now, and although she may be any things, the Speaker is no fool. This impeachment farce may seem like an exercise in futility since the chances of conviction in the Senate are roughly equivalent to winning the Powerball and the Megaball in the same week. Could there be something else at play here? Are the powers that be in the Democratic Party intentionally trying to sideline Warren and Sanders in favor Of Joe Biden?
I had to listen it again on my computer because I wasn’t sure I heard it right the first time. Joe Biden actually said that “when it comes to decisions, the details don’t matter. It is somewhat disconcerting that someone who wants to be leader of the Free World thinks that details should not inform decisions. It does explain, however, how he manages to be on the wrong side of just about every foreign policy decision for the past 30 years. The same approach to decision making among his supporters also helps to explain why he still has any although the rather sad quality of the current alternatives to his candidacy.
It does beg the question, however, that if the details don’t matter then what does? How do you make decisions? Flip a coin? Draw lots? Tarot Cards? Eeney, meeny, miny mo? The media keeps giving this guy a pass but frankly the thought of this buffoon in the oval office is just scary.
I used to think that no one could ever make Jimmy Carter look good by comparison and then along came Obama. The only thing I liked about Obama was that he stayed in office long enough to keep crazy Uncle Joe out. Who knew that the Democratic Party would be in such disarray that the likes of Joe Biden is being touted as the one safe choice that can save the party from itself.
