When The Speaker of the House stood up and began ripping up the President’s State of the Union Address, it was more than just an act of colossal ignorance and immensely bad behavior. She ripped up an official document that is supposed to be entered into the Congressional Record. In other words, the speech that the President handed her was not hers to do with as she saw fit. It was the property of the people of the United States. For that reason alone, she should be censured by her colleagues and removed from her position as Speaker. She humiliated herself and her Party.
Diamond and Silk posted on twitter a poignant example of what else she tore up in her petulant disregard for common decency.
I know it’s been a tough week. The Senate refused to allow itself to be bullied into helping you to smear the President further. Adam Schiff revealed himself to be the goofball moron many already knew him to be. President Trump’s numbers continue to improve in the face of unrelenting criticism from Democrats and their partisan hack allies in the media. And then your parties showcase event for the week, the Iowa Caucus, has deteriorated into chaos and disarray. But pointedly tearing up your copy of the State of the Union Address was the act of a child and a poorly behaved child at that.
Nancy was not alone in her unprofessional and puerile behavior. There was, of course, the spectacle of all those ladies wearing white so that they could draw attention to themselves. This sea of white is the same silly tactic they used in the last SOTU. Narcissism aside, the Democrats might want to reconsider the optics of all these white-clad buffoons refusing to applaud for a scholarship granted to a young African-American girl simply because it was Trump who gave it. It was petty, infantile, and absurd, but it did reveal that Democrats are far more concerned with genuflecting before the Teachers Union than in doing anything to help the poor trapped in failing schools.
In the end, the Democrats continue to distance themselves from the very people they need to vote for them. No one expects the opposition applaud everything the President says, but the outright disrespect, not just for the office of the Presiden but on their own as well, is not lost on the American people. Some boycotted the speech, some walked out, and some just chose to be juvenile and myopic.
Ocasio-Cortez faces primary challenge from second-generation Queens immigrant
You start a brand new job and then immediately begin dissing the boss who just happens to be one the most powerful women in the United States. Did you really think Fancy Nancy was going to just grin and bear it?
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., will have to get through a primary challenger if she wants to hold on to her seat in 2020. Democratic activist Badrun Khan, who has challenged Ocasio-Cortez for the Democratic nomination to represent New York’s 14th district. says on her website that she’ll provide “REAL Results… Not Empty Promises” — an apparent jab at the socialist darling. When asked about Khan’s challenge, Ocasio-Cortez said: “I just focus on delivering for my district and doing the best job. I try not to focus too much on other folks in the field,” according to The Hill. Khan filed her statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Committee in July. The website for New York City’s government confirms that Khan serves on Queens Community Board 2. FOX NEWS
